Ed and Willodean Swensen opened for business in the Spring of 1970.  It was a part time venture at first. Ed continued to work for Royal Crown Cola for the first several years while the business grew. His 20 Years at RC led him to the A/C repair business because he worked in the refrigeration department.  By 1974 He retired from Royal Crown and opened full time as Cool Car Auto Air on Morris Road in Columbus GA. He stayed and prospered at the Morris road location until his retirement and sale of the business to Gus Swensen in 1989.

Willodean was born in Dale County, Al and moved with her family to Columbus, Ga when she was a young child.  She is a graduate of Jordan Vocational High School, Columbus State University, and Troy University majoring in Human Resource Management.  She retired from First Union Bank (Wachovia) after 32 years, worked several years with Columbus Regional Healthcare System, served as a substitute teacher in the Muscogee County School System and the Ozark and Dale County School Systems.  She continues working in the Human Resource Department of GreenPoint Mortgage Funding, Inc. and teaches Human Resource classes  at Troy University.
